                                       Tears in Heaven

In the song Tears in Heaven by Eric Clapton the rhythm and melody are slow. The guitar is light and crisp, the mood set is soft and sad. The words are pronounced slow and eloquently. This song is about the love for his son and the immense emotion and heartbreak he felt when his son died and the pain he is still coping with.He sings "would you know my name if I saw you in heaven". His son was very young when he died after falling over a balcony in his new your home while trying to catch a ball.
The energy felt in the song is sad because he feels bad because he wishes he could take his sons place. " I know you don't belong here in heaven" meaning his life was cut too short and Eric Clapton just can't fathom why. This song touches me. The emotion he portrays with just a few words is so tremendous. You can feel the suffering he has gone through and is still going through, and he struggles to overcome the atrocity of his sons death.
